1. What is HEV Blue Light?
To put it simply, the sun emits 2 main types of rays; those that are invisible to us: Ultra-Violet rays and Infra-Red and those that are visible.
These are all the colors that you see in a rainbow. Each ray is assigned a wavelength, which allows them to be classified according to the energy and their ability to penetrate your skin. The more we advance towards the visible and infrared, the more the wavelength increase, and the more the energy of the rays decreases, but the more they can penetrate your skin deeply.
So, we have UVB then UVA then visible light and infrared which penetrate in crescendo into your skin.
Before, we were mainly interested in UV rays, but today we know that visible light is also dangerous, in particular, blue light or high energy visible light which exceeds long UVA rays and is between 400 and 450 nanometres.
Its effect is harmful for our skin and accumulate throughout our lives!
It alone accounts for 50% of skin damage caused by a visible light. And more precisely, it gives wrinkles and spots on your face among other effects.
We have to protect our skin!
2. How to be well protected from HEV Blue Light?
Until recently, the main focus of scientists was on skin damage caused by Ultra-violet, UVB and UVA rays. But today, we know that blue light emitted by the sun deeply penetrate our skin and that is responsible, among other things, for wrinkles and spots on our faces.
Scientific studies have proved the blue sunlight is responsible for 25% of oxidative damage to the skin.*
To protect against this, the Eau Thermale Avène Dermatological Laboratories have been able to provide an effective solution: the TriAsorB innovation. This is a new ultra-broad spectrum filter formulated into sun care products that protects the skin, not only from UVB and UVA, but also from blue light.

2 – Test in vitro.
This filter has a unique hybrid action: as it is an organic filter, it protects the skin by absorbing UV rays. But it also has a unique quality, it is also able to reflect high energy visible light, blue light like a mineral filter.
Thanks to these new generation sunscreens, your skin is protected from UV and blue light to help preventing skin cancer and premature aging of the skin.
3. New Avène sun protection range for face
In order to offer products suitable for daily sun protection, the Eau Thermale Avène Dermatological Laboratories have developed a new face range, effective against UV and Blue Light.
Several galenics have been developed to meet the needs of each skin type in order to facilitate daily use: a fluid texture for normal skin, a richer texture in the form of a cream for dry skin, and a cream specially designed for acne-prone skin with sebum-regulating active ingredients.
No more excuses for not protecting your skin every day!
